As you may already know, some banks offer users the ability to use virtual cards as an option to generate an alternative number to your credit / debit card number. In this way, if the data of your card were to be stolen on the Internet, just delete its virtual version, without the need to request a new one from the bank. Indeed, some structures even allow you to generate a single-use card number. Now, finally, even these virtual cards receive support in Safari thanks to iOS 16.
While Apple Pay provides a secure number for every transaction, this new feature will allow users to make purchases even where Apple Pay is not supported.
