Apple has revamped the iPad range with the launch of the entry level model, known simply as “iPad”, and the new iPad Pro with M2 chip and, at the same time, has definitively eliminated the audio jack from the range of its tablets. Here are the details:
Apple says goodbye to the audio jack for iPads
The 9th generation of iPad, officially still on the market, it will be the last Apple tablet to be able to count on the audio jack. The Cupertino house, with the launch of the tenth generation and the new iPad Pro, definitively says goodbye to the audio jack. In order to use any device that requires a connection via audio jack with a new generation iPad it will be necessary to rely onadattatore USB-C/jack da 3,5 mm that Apple sells for 10 euros.
When the latest units of the ninth generation iPad are finished (it may take a few months as production is expected to be finished), it will no longer be possible to buy an Apple tablet with audio jack. For some time, the Cupertino company has chosen to follow this path, eliminating the jack option to focus on alternative solutions and in particular on the connection via Bluetooth.
Apple is unlikely to retrace its steps. For the future, therefore, it will be necessary to look for other options to connect to one of the tablets of the Cupertino house. The jack is now an old story. We’ll see what Apple’s choices will be for the future of its tablet range.
