The data provided by Canalys is summarized below. Sales of premium smartphones are growing sharply (+4.7% compared to last year) despite overall smartphone sales declining (-13.3%).
Leading the market is Apple and, in particular, the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro Max which precedes iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13. The dominance of the Cupertino house is interrupted by Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung’s flagship phone ranks fifth in Q1 premium smartphone sales despite only arriving on the market in February. S23 Ultra is the first Android model in the ranking.
