Today the US Patent Office officially granted a Apple a patent relating to the production of a cover for its truly unique devices. The main focus of the project concerns the cover per iPad of new generation, which should be composed of a series of segments connected to each other able to become a real stand for the device.
Apple: the patent for the resettable cover arrives
Surely you may have thought that this strange cover vaguely resembles a construction in Geomag, and actually you are right, the similarity is there. The advantages of such an accessory are obvious, since it would make versatility its undisputed strength. However, Apple seems to want to take this reasoning to the next level by making the structure a kind of power bank.
In fact, this cover should be able to accumulate electricity, even if it is not clear how and with what capacity, given that the patent is particularly poor in information in this sense. However, the idea that animates the project is undoubtedly interesting, and could prove to be an extremely comfortable accessory for all those who use their iPad during small daily commutes.
The downside is that this project may not necessarily see the light of day, since patents have always been a simple container of ideas. It is therefore difficult to say if Apple will ever create this device, or if it will introduce it in a different form in a long time, what is certain is that it is a project with potential, which we hope will not remain unspoken.
In the meantime, let’s keep our eyes peeled for the next apple event, whether we ever find ourselves admiring this cover in action directly on the pitch in some trailers.
