You can pay for Google services in Bitcoin: here’s what we know
CNBC reports that Google’s intention is to integrate the Coinbase Prime service, the trading platform’s premium service. However, not everyone will be able to pay in crypto from 2023. Amit Zavery, vice president, general manager and head of the Google Cloud platform, said that cryptocurrency payments will initially be exclusive to selected users. In particular, these are believed to be who they are already active on the Web3, through the Coinbase Commerce integration. Despite this, the payment in cryptocurrencies will be progressively expanded to all users.
At the moment, no details of the deal have been published, although Jim Migdal – Coinbase’s vice president of commercial development – stated that the dialogue between the two companies had already been underway for months. We can however assume that Coinbase will benefit from a percentage on the payments of Google customers who will pay through the platform.
