Reportedly, LG will produce a portion of the displays of iPhone 14, which will use LTPO TFT OLED screen. The company is expected to take over the production of screens together with Samsung and will be the first notchless displays ever seen in the iPhone range. LG will produce the iPhone 14 screens
The news was reported by The Elec magazine together with the analyst Ming Chi Kuo. The latter already last March had highlighted that in 2022 the first iPhone without a notch in the display would arrive and now it seems that the rumors are becoming more and more concrete.
According to what is reported by The Elec, Apple would have commissioned Samsung to produce screens for the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro. Instead, the production of the 6.7-inch displays for the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be shared between Samsun and LG. In addition to being good news for LG, this is also new in that of Apple, which for now has always referred to Samsung in this respect.
Still taking a look at the rumors circulating on the web, Apple may intend to eliminate the notch just for iPhone 14 Pro e Pro Max, models in which it will be replaced by a simple hole in the screen. This would lead the company to have to re-evaluate the Face ID function, which will necessarily have to refer to other sensors, perhaps positioned under the display.
