Only a few days left until the release of Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, the new Italian survival horror developed by Invader Studios and published by Leonardo Interactive. And to while away the wait (and make the hype grow) comes a first gem: the main theme of the game. This is Loneliness, a song composed and produced by Alessandro Galdieri (who edited the entire original soundtrack of the game), and graced by the powerful voice of Christine Scabbia of the Lacuna Coils.
“It was really a very exciting and challenging creative process for me. From the sound, in search of the right melody, to Cristina’s whatsapp message, in which she expressed her enthusiasm already at the first demo ”, Alessandro Galdieri told us. Speaking of the genesis of the song he then added:
“While writing Loneliness I tried to imagine what Delila Reyes might be feeling [personaggio protagonista del gioco, ndr]. Something melancholy, powerful, poignant came out of it. Then came Cristina, who managed to transform and amplify those sensations even more, making the song pure magic”.
Cristina Scabbia sings Loneliness, main theme of Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle
Climbing up the mammoth orchestral scaffolding set up by Galdieri, Cristina Scabbia’s voice moves sinuously over an intro of piano and strings, which soon roll out the red carpet to an airy, powerful melody. The result? Loneliness takes us by the hand and leads us into atmospheres of loneliness and despair that characterize the world of Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle. A game that has all it takes to get into the hearts of psychological horror lovers.
“When the guys at Invaders Studios asked me to play Loneliness, I accepted with immense joy,” said Cristina Scabbia. “I think it’s a very poignant and incredibly evocative song, perfect for embracing the mood of the game and the emotions of its protagonist. I really hope you love solitude as much as I do”
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle will be available on August 30, 2023 su PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S e Xbox One.
