The shareholders’ meetings of Tiscali and Linkem approved the merger by incorporation of Linkem’s retail branch into Tiscali. The operation will lead to the birth of the first provider in Italy in the sector of ultra-broadband access in technologies in FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) plus FTTH (Fiber to the Home, the traditional optical fiber that reaches the user’s home) with a market share of over 19%.

Thanks to the merger with Linkem, Tiscali will become the fifth operator in the fixed network market, marking an important step forward in the growth program. This is a strategically very important operation for the future. With the merger between Linkem and Tiscali, in fact, a provider is born that aims to become more and more a reference in the connectivity sector in Italy over the next few years. It should be noted that the merger operation does not include Linkem’s network infrastructures and frequencies. The merger agreement was reached in December last year.
