Black Friday is coming, the Christmas holidays are around the corner: Microsoft chose the best time to launch the preview version of Copilot in Microsoft Shoppinga service that brings generative AI to the experience of online purchase. This new tool uses a chatbot based on Bing Chat designed to assist users in their purchasing decisions.
Microsoft introduce Copilot in Microsoft Shopping
Although the launch was linked to new browser features Edge from Microsoft, Copilot in Microsoft Shopping is accessible via its dedicated website, which can also be used through others browser.
Once the site is open, the chatbot appears on the right side of the screen, greeting users with a question in English about how it can help acquisitions. However, it can also respond in Italian: Don’t be intimidated.

We tried asking for advice on a book to buy, and the bot asked us which genre we like and who our favorite authors are, and a series of other questions to understand what to choose. However, it remains a preview function for the USA: it will help you reduce the search areas, but it does not mean that it will recommend purchase links that can be used in our country.
The introduction of this innovative feature represents a step forward in Microsoft’s vision of making users’ digital experience more intuitive and oriented towards individual needs. Once fully implemented in Italy, it could help us with all our online shopping needs.
