Blockster, a team of Minecraft players and creators, has announced its latest creation: a faithful reproduction of the hometown of The Simpsons.
The Simpsons land on the Minecraft sandbox
“We have a passion for creating immersive worlds, full of wonderful details and waiting to be discovered.” With these words, the creators of Blockster, a team of Minecraft fans, have announced the new project: to reproduce in a meticulous way the Springfield of The Simpsons, complete with “real” characters. The map in question is not yet available for download, but we know it will contain 25 skins, a fully decorated house, a custom texture pack and over 300 models. Blockster has also promised custom music and minigames within their version of Springfield.
Once ready it will be possible to download the map here, opening the doors to the city that we have all come to know through the eyes of Homer, Bart, Lisa and Marge. It will then be possible to visit places such as Springfield High School, the Tavern of Boe and the Jet Market of Apu. The screenshots of the new map also reveal that players will be able to meet characters such as Mr. Burns, Smithers, Apu, the Comic Book Man, Barney and of course the entire Simpson family.
