Here comes a one-of-a-kind mini PC. This is MinisForum B550 and allows you to mount high-end desktop GPUs thanks to the particular configuration of the case.
After having promised it last year, MinisForum finally launches the pre-sales campaign for your new B550 mini PC. One of the most powerful mini PCs ever made. As the name suggests, it will be able to mount latest generation AMD CPUs. But above all we will be able to mount high-end desktop GPUs.
MinisForum B550: a mini PC that replaces a desktop
The MinisForum B550 mini PC will be based on the AMD B550 chipset as anticipated. It will be equipped with two different CPUs ie AMD Ryzen 4700G (clock base 3.6 GHz, boost clock 4.4 GHz) e AMD Ryzen 5700G (base clock 3.8 GHz, boost 4.6 GHz). It will also be possible to replace the CPU with a compatible one if necessary. The motherboard supports Ryzen 4000/5000 series CPUs with AM4 socket with TDP less than or equal to 65W (so does not support higher-end 5950X / 5900X / 5800X models). This is quite reasonable considering the compact design which does not allow for large heatsinks to be mounted. The motherboard also supports up to 64GB of RAM and has two M.2 2280 SSD slots. Depending on the CPU being used, the B550 can support PCIe 4.0 technology. Thanks to the AMD RZ608 chipset we also have compatibility with Bluetooh 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 in terms of wireless connectivity.
Since some of the supported CPUs do not have an integrated GPU and although available in many cases it falls short, MinisForum B550 was designed to work with a decent GPU. The mini PC will then come with a case expansion dock that can be easily connected to the computer and discrete GPU. Unfortunately, the package does not include a discrete GPU included nor the power supply to power the discrete GPU.
The compact design of this mini PC allows it to occupy just 20.85 cm x 24.08 cm x 12.81 cm and 155 g in weight. In addition, MinisForum B550 is equipped with many interfaces including 2 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort, 4 USB 3.2, 1 USB Type-C, 1 Ethernet 2.5 Gigabit, 1 audio output for headphones or speakers and 1 input for a microphone. The package will also include a small suitcase that will allow you to easily carry the device around without fear of breaking it. The package will also contain power adapter and power cable, HDMI cable, SATA cable, VESA mount.
