WB Games confirmed that this is the next title in the pipeline for NetherRealm Studios, and that the game will arrive this year. But while the date is in the 2023 time spectrum, details are still scarce. The official reveal is yet to come, but as far as we have understood the wind will change very soon.

To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the series, the NetherRealm Studios development team showed a video containing messages of appreciation to fans from many developers. The last of them comes directly from “father Scorpion” ed boon himself, with his heartfelt thanks for thirty years of support. It all ends with a promise: “we’re not done yet”. Boon then made matters worse, again on Twitter, inviting fans to eye the “brief and not so implicit look” at the future of the saga. The long-awaited reveal is expected to hit our screens this month, although rumors aren’t unbuttoning any specific date. Since, however, it is expected a showcase dedicated to the PlayStation world before June, it is possible that the expectations will be repaid with (virtual) beatings in the following weeks. A little strange, if you pass a consideration, to do it before the period that was E3, but for Sub-Zero and associates it is always the right moment.
