A few days after the release of the stable version of Chrome 100, another browser prepares to reach the third digit. Indeed Mozilla released the beta version of Firefox 100. Unlike Google, it doesn’t celebrate with an icon change. But with some interesting news also arrived in the mobile version.
Mozilla releases the Firefox 100 beta
Mozilla also reaches the third figure, albeit only in beta. Bringing a feature already used on desktop to the mobile version: the HTTPS-only function. Firefox already makes sure to use one https encrypted connection whenever he can. But for sites that only have an http version use the less secure version.
With HTTPS-only mode, however, you will see a warning explaining the risks of connecting without an encrypted connection. A function already present on the dekstop and that other browsers like Chrome and Edge use by default.
This first release of the beta features this major new feature, while also featuring bug fixes and performance improvements. But it is not said that it is the only news coming.
For example many users would like to be able to use all the extensions available for Firefox also on mobile, while they are forced to switch to the Nightly version browser to do so. But this is decidedly less stable, having updates more frequently to experience the news.
On the other hand, there are very interesting features like the Total Cookie Protection.
In any case, the Firefox beta number 100 made its debut on the Google Play Store. And it seems that to see the stable version we will have to wait another month: the release is scheduled for May 3, 2022. We will keep you updated should there be important news.
