But Kobe’s real mark on this game lies in the fact that to fully tackle NBA 2K24 you need to really enter the Mamba Mentality. The amount of possibilities offered by this title is in fact incredible, almost overwhelming. Yes they can easily spend dozens of hours exploring every detailclimbing the ranks and becoming better and better.
There’s a in-depth work which undoubtedly follows the evolution of sports titles in recent years. If once it was just a matter of individual challenges, at most accompanied by a seasonal path, today we have many more methods and paths to follow, offline and online. But NBA 2K24 has a third half and runs ahead of everyone, creating a game that is difficult to imagine more complete than this.
My Career is a unique journey in which to get lost
Perhaps the mode that involved us the most was the one dedicated to career. We will find ourselves catapulted into story of a playercreated by us with various features, ready to face the NBA starting from its debut with one real narrative componenthowever simple.
We are a young man called to bring forward an important name, given that both our grandfather and our father (now our manager) were great champions. Given these premises, the objective is therefore only one: officially become the GOAT.
We will therefore find ourselves playing the different games (we can also choose to actively participate only in the main ones, considering the long and busy NBA calendar) checking just our player. Every action will directly influence our vote and you will have to be very careful in the game. Forget about mashing every three for two as if you were the only one on the pitch: we start again from the fundamentals.
Slowly getting the hang of it we will learn to play as a team, to move carefully without the ball, to choose the best moment to shoot by finding the right windows. And seeing that vote grow minute by minute is something extraordinarily satisfying.
But NBA 2K24 Career isn’t just about the challenges on the court
In the game as in reality, a player’s life is not just on the parquet. In NBA 2K24 Career we will find ourselves managing every aspect of our character. From sponsor agreements to social media, from strategy meetings with coaches to press conferences. We will be able to wander around the locker rooms and chat with journalists and teammates or take the road to the city.
It’s here we will find a gigantic world, connected online on the game servers, everything to explore with lots of activities. First of all clearly the basketball on street courts, the less combed but equally challenging one. And here we will be able to build a real “parallel career” by earning respect on the asphalt.
It is not enough? And so here it is icing on the cake. As we were saying, our protagonist comes from a long lineage of champions and it is important to know their history. So here we have the opportunity to play i key moments in the careers of his father and grandfather of the protagonist. All with a gameplay style appropriate to the time and – a touch of class that drove us crazy – the themed graphics. Including the cathode ray tube effect, as these are challenges of the past.
The only aspect that it didn’t fully convince us it is the surrender of the city and of free roaming moments in general. You notice that it is a secondary side of the game and so it is less cared for, both on a graphic and actual movement level. Perhaps in this aspect we could improve in future editions of the game.
But NBA 2K24 still has so much more to offer
So far we have only given one scratched to the surface regarding this game, we assure you. You can really find everything a fan could want in this game. Of course there is no shortage of it Exhibition modewhere we can play quick matches with our favorite teams (including past versions of them).
We have the ability to play one or more NBA seasons with the full team, controlling every aspect. There is a fun mode that synchronizes with the NBA calendar to allow us to experience the day’s games even in virtual mode. There’s all one section dedicated to the WNBA to launch ourselves into the women’s side of Stars and Stripes basketball. And there is no shortage of it MyTEAM mode in which to collect cards and challenge the online world, an increasingly popular feature in modern sports titles.
In short, NBA 2K24 truly offers everything a basketball fan could want, with all the levels of difficulty and commitment we want. To explore every corner and truly master the title it would probably take just a year. Just in time to launch into the new chapter.
