It’s been over two years since PlayStation announced Spider-Man 2 e Marvel’s Wolverinebut now it seems that the wait is coming to an end. Both games should in fact be released in 2023as exclusive PlayStation 5. Paradoxically to announce the novelty was Microsoft, albeit indirectly and through a leaked document. However, the company did not specify a specific release date.
A new Microsoft document (published by Tech 4 Gamers) reports some details regarding the Activision Blizzard acquisition agreement. Among these there is also a list of games scheduled to be released next year for PlayStation.
Specifically, the document reads: “PlayStation, for 2023, is planning a series of releases of exclusive proprietary and third-party titles. Among these also Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Horizon, Final Fantasy XVI and Forspoken “.
Looking forward to Marvel’s Wolverine: what we know about the game
Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced in 2021 and will be developed by Insomniac Gamesthe same software house currently working on Spider-Man 2. As mentioned, both titles will be released in the course of 2023, but this should not be problematic for Insomniac, which in the last 5 years has released 4 titles (two of the Ratchet franchise and Clank and two of the Spider-Man saga).
Following the announcement of Wolverine’s game last year, Ryan Schneider – Insomniac executive – said:
“In the wake of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is not just to respect the DNA of what makes the Wolverine character so popular, but also to make him fresh and palatable, mirroring the spirit and identity of Wolverine. Insomniac “.
If the estimates in Microsoft’s report were correct, and the release were to actually take place in 2023, we could expect an official announcement already in the coming months. However, it cannot be excluded that the published report is generic, and therefore subject to approximate evaluations.
