Several rumors have been circulating for a few weeks stating that the three giants of the gaming industry (Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo) will not participate in E3 2023, one of the most important events in the sector. Today comes the confirmation of these rumors from the company of the large N. This has in fact declared:
“Since this year’s E3 was not part of our plans, we decided not to attend. However we have been, and continue to be, strong supporters of ESA and E3”.
E3 2023: Nintendo package, will Xbox and Sony also be missing?
E3 2023 marks the return of the in-person event after four years. This will take place in the usual location of the Los Angeles Convention Center, from 13 to 16 June, exactly one month after the release of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, the highly anticipated new Nintendo game due out on May 12th. The event will be co-organized by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and ReedPop.
It remains to be seen whether the absences of Microsoft (with Xbox) and Sony (with PlayStation) will also be confirmed. Sony skipped E3 for the first time in 2019 and has not attended the annual convention since. Microsoft instead he declared a few weeks ago that he would organize one showcase in Los Angeles this summer, but didn’t mention E3 at all.
