The noise reduction during calls it would not be available to iPhone 13, due to a bug of iOS 15. The feature, which cancels background noises when you call someone, has been present on Apple’s smartphones since iOS 7, which debuted with the iPhone 5 in 2012.
iPhone 13 does not have call noise reduction due to an iOS 15 bug
Some headphones, such as the AirPods Pro, use the active noise cancellation to help you feel better during calls. But your iPhone can do the same thing too, isolating your voice and eliminating the rest with good accuracy. Unless you have the very latest version: iPhone 13.
In fact, according to what a user on Reddit explains (the nickname is throwawaowl999), the functionality is missing in the settings. After noticing that his interlocutor was annoyed by the background noise during a call, he looked in Settings> Accessibility> Audio / Video to find the item Noise cancellation. But unlike what happens on all iPhones from 5 to 12, there was not.
The user then turned to an Apple Store, but the experts at the counter could not help him. In fact, they weren’t even aware of the problem. Instead, Apple Support told him that Apple’s engineers are working on it. But there is still no expected date for the resolution of the problem.
Another user pointed out the same problem to Apple Support, after noting that the quality of calls using CarPlay it does not live up to expectations. But even in this case, no expected date for the solution. Apple has already released iOS 15.3 in beta but there are no news regarding audio in calls. And on the Apple site there are complaints from the first week of October about the problem, reporting the same problem also with FaceTime.
A problem that Apple must find a solution to quickly, however. Because, as one of the users on Reddit points out: “it’s a phone! Making calls is THE basic function “. We will keep you updated on the issue and its resolution, which we hope will come quickly.
