Nokia ready to launch an AI assistant, designed for workers

The next Mobile World Congress (MWC) could reserve an unexpected surprise on the part of Nokia. But this time it’s not a new, easily repairable smartphone. Nokia, in fact, is preparing something different: a AI assistant. Don’t worry, it’s not just another variant of ChatGPT. Instead, it is a tool designed for workers.

Nokia ready to unveil an AI Assistant for industry

The new assistant, called MX Workmateis based on theartificial intelligence and could prove useful in many industrial scenarios. Reuters (via Phone Arena) reports that this tool generates messages for industrial workers: For example, it provides alerts about faulty machinery based on real-time data and can even give advice on how to increase factory production. Nothing ChatGPT and Gemini on GoogleIn short, but a no-frills application for those who work.

Nokia underlined that MX Workmate will use large language models (LLMs) that are generative of artificial intelligence to write human-like texts. Something that should make it easier to interact with machines.

The company will present the first version of this AI assistant to the next MWC a Barcelona at the end of February. However, some aspects of theassistant I’m still in the research phase. Unlike other chatbots, a possible error could mean economic damage and reduced security for companies. It will only arrive on the market when Nokia is sure that it does not have “hallucinations” like other AIs.

Currently, Nokia provides technology 4G e 5G for internal communications that help industrial companies connect to data from machine sensors. The objective of theAI assistant is to simplify the understanding of this data, providing practical help to workers.

Although some parts of theassistant are still in the research phase, Nokia foresees a possible implementation within a year or year and a half. But we will already be able to tell you some details, in all likelihood, already during the Mobile World Congress at the end of the month.
