Nothing has officially announced its new smartphone, Phone (2a) — its device that brings the style of the brand and Glyphs even to the mid-price range. The new smartphone arrives to replace Phone (1), while Phone (2) remains the top of the range of the series. But even this cheaper version has a lot to tell.
Nothing Phone (2a), style at a mid-range price
Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, said: “Phone (2a) will allow more people to experience the Innovations by Nothing that many have come to love, and we are certain that it will become our best-selling product ever.” And with mid-range features and price, it could do the trick.
The heart of Phone (2a) is the processor Dimensity 7200 Pro, developed in collaboration with MediaTek. With 4nm process technology, this 8-core chip has clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz. It comes with 8 or 12GB, which becomes 20 GB with RAM Booster technology. It is capable of 13% more powerful performance than Phone (1) and 16% lower power consumption.
Phone (2a) has a dual rear camera from 50 MP, powered by the TrueLens Engine. Nothing worked with Google to develop Ultra XDR. The front camera is from 32 MP.
Also interesting 6.7″ flexible AMOLED display, which offers accurate reproduction of 1.07 billion colors, with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. There is also the refresh rate of 120 Hzinteresting in this price range.
Phone (2a) features a fully visible internal design, with cameras integrated into the circular NFC module. The back of the smartphone shows the Glyph Interface, with fewer lights than Phone (1) and (2), but lots of character. Nothing assures us that it has worked on sustainability, with Phone (2a) boasting the lowest carbon footprint in the world. The device uses recycled materials and a new process for recycling plastic waste.
The phone comes with Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14. And you get three years of software updates and four years of security updates.
Price and availability
Phone (2a) will be available in colors Black, Milk e Whitewith two models to choose from: 8GB/128GB (€349) e 12GB/256GB (€399). It will be on sale starting from 12 March. Find more information on the Nothing website.
