It seems that the prices of some custom versions of NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti have been leaked from manufacturers MSI and Gigabyte. The rumors come from some sellers who have posted prices in advance of the official release expected for the end of May
These days there has been a lot of talk about NVIDA RTX 3080 Ti and many are wondering about the price. Undoubtedly between an RTX 3080 and an RTX 3090, NVIDIA has left a large margin that can easily be bridged by the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti with a list price of around $ 999. This is obviously purely utopian given that GPUs will be difficult to find on the market and therefore the final price will be higher. We have at least some indications from retail sellers leaked in these hours thanks to the colleagues at wccftech who show us how the price of the custom NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti it can vary between 1200 and 2200 dollars.
NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti: very variable price of custom
We now assume that this new GPU will hit stores towards the end of the month, although it will perhaps remain available for a few minutes. MSI has already shipped its custom to distributors and probably the other manufacturers will have done the same in these days. And in fact the first dedicated pages are beginning to appear on the retailers’ sites to the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti with its price.The MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X OC has been listed by the Polish retailer X-Kom. Most recently, resellers based in Australia and New Zealand showed several custom Gigabyte and MSI models.
Australian dealer indicates that NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti has a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) until the end of May which is in line with the alleged launch date of the card which has been set for May 26 by the latest rumors. A second retailer claims that the first stock will be available around 13 May (perhaps for pre-orders), a few days before the official GPU presentation, which is May 16th.
Now we come to the juiciest part: what price will you pay for an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti? Obviously it depends on the model and the dealer. ComputersPerth is selling Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Eagle and Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Vision OC graphics cards for AU $ 1732.75, which is approximately 1350 US dollars. The second retailer, AqualiaTechnology, instead shows much more demanding figures: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X OC is sold for 2543 New Zealand dollars that is 1800 US dollars, while Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Gaming OC even reaches 3152 New Zealand dollars or about 2250 US dollars. Would you be willing to pay that much for the new GPU? Taking into account the times, perhaps we could not have expected otherwise. However, we would like to remind you that the prices offered by individual retailers may not all be aligned.
Alleged specifications
Let’s take a review of what we know about the specs of the new GPU. The NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB FE (Founders Edition) graphics card is expected to feature a PCB design encoded as PG132-SKU18 and the GA102-225-KD-A1 graphics chip. It looks like the latest reinterpretation of this GPU will have 10240 core CUDA for a total of 80 SM units, almost as much as an RTX 3090 which has just a handful more. The new top-of-the-range video card should deliver a clock speed of 1365 MHz in base and 1665 MHz in boost, slightly below the flagship RTX 3090 probably due to the TGP which should remain the same as the RTX 3080 or 320 W.
As for the memory, the card will be equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6X memory (even at the beginning it seemed to be 20). Unlike the RTX 3090’s 19.5Gbps speeds, the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti is expected to maintain the same memory speed as the RTX 3080’s 19Gbps. It is also assumed that the new graphics card will use a 384-bit bus interface for a theoretical total bandwidth of 912 GB / s. That should still be enough to power the huge 10,000-core chip, although a slightly more generous buffer would have made this GPU longer-lasting.
