To catch Pal, be patient: we will promptly tell you how to catch the Palworld critters: prepare a pen and paper!
“Of course”, you will say, “it’s easy to write guides on saddles if we don’t know what to do to catch them all”: no problem, we’ll tell you how to capture the over 100 Pal scattered around the islands of Palworld. It won’t be a number comparable to the three-digit ones that Nintendo exclusives manage to give us for better or worse with each pair of titles, but between Alpha versions, fusions and even color variations (those surprises!), there’s something to indulge in. And there’s nothing to scratch your head about, at least not now that we’re here to take you by the hand. We won’t keep a count for similarities with Pokémon, because it would risk being longer than the guide…
Stop us if you’ve already heard it | Palworld: How to capture Pals
To capture the little animals with the ball for Palworld’s second amendment, as you might have guessed, you will need special spheres: the Pal Spheres. At the beginning of the game you will receive some, but later you need to obtain some Paldium to create them. If you have read our preliminary guide, you already know what we are referring to: place the base near a mine and, among the various minerals, you will soon be able to craft the spheres in question. For the most powerful beasts, then, the Mega Spheres, Giga Spheres, Hyper Spheres, Ultra Spheres e Legendary Spheres. You can obtain the latter in multiple ways.
They wander around a bit | Palworld: How to capture Pals
To get the stronger variants, such as the Mega Balls – sorry, Mega Spheres – you will have various alternatives. The simplest is, as you would imagine, the find them around. Or, although the latter are not exactly everywhere, you can get them from enemies Faction. They can also be found in chests. Finally, it is possible that between the enemies there is too who sells them to you. Try to keep in mind, however, that towards the end of the adventure you can craft the rarest and most effective spheres with the appropriate assembly lines (Sphere Assembly Lines). We advise you, lastly, to collect as many as possible Lifmunk Effigies possible: the collection increases your capture power once they are consumed at the appropriate statue (Statue of Power). Since they are recognized by their green glow, you should find them without problems.
Practical Paldeck for Beginners | Palworld: How to capture Pals
We have brought together in this table the various Pals that can come in handy, along with the reasons to make monsters yours. Catch them all…?
Name | Type | Utility | Location | Main reason for use |
Bad | Neutral (neutrale) | Handiwork (chores), Gathering (materials), Mining (excavation) and Transporting (transportation) | Start game, regardless of region | At the start of the game, Bad may not actually be a… bad (sorry) choice. Its Partner ability, Cat Helper, allows the creature to carry more things, thus making up for the shortcomings of your inventory. And it’s common enough to allow for many duplicates. |
Tanzee | Grass (erba) | Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering, Transporting and Gathering | Start game, regardless of region | Another great early game choice, just like Bad. Plus, her Cheery Rifle ability allows her to use an assault rifle to, well, assault enemies. Which is good. |
Pengullet | Water (water), Ice (ice) | Handiwork, Transporting, Watering (irrigation) and Cooling (cooling) | Slightly northwest of the Plateau of Beginnings fast travel point, near the water. | Great for cooling meals and watering crops. Its Partner ability, Pengullet Cannon, deals massive damage with the only price of incapacitating Pengullet afterwards. |
Eikthyrdeer | Neutral | Lumbering | Slightly northwest of the Plateau of Beginnings fast travel point. | His Partner skill, Guardian of the Forest, increases wood cutting efficiency. Once mounted, he allows a double jump, which makes him very useful in the early game. |
Bench | Water, Ice | Handiwork, Transporting, Watering, Cooling e Mining | An Alpha variant can be found in the Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings. | Her Partner Skill, Brave Sailor, is useful in some situations as it increases the rewards obtainable by defeating Fire-type Pals. And it also comes in handy at the base, of course. |
Dazzi | Electric (electro) | Generating electricity, Handiwork and Transporting | In the desert to the northeast. | Having a Pal at your side while launching another on the attack is optional, but in this sense Dazzi is the best. He can hit with electric attacks consistently, thus dealing a good amount of damage. Proper equipment is required, and an enemy can sometimes dodge the attack, but nevertheless it is still a great choice. |
Moss sand | Grass | Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering e Transporting | North of the fast travel point on top of Mount Flopie. | His Partner ability, Grenadier Panda, is worth the catch alone as it allows you to ride Mossanda and fire grenade launchers, which are great for inflicting massive damage. |
Anubis | Ground (terra) | Handiwork, Mining e Transporting | Northeast of the Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant, with the Alpha variant in the same area. | With his Partner ability, Guardian of the Desert, he can deal Ground damage and enjoy a chance to dodge attacks, thus increasing his chances of surviving in battle. |
Jetragon | Dragon (dragon), legendary | Gathering | North of the fast travel point to the Beach of Everlasting Summer near the coast. | His Partner ability, Aerial Missile, is insane: you can launch missiles while on his back. Death from above! |
Frostallion | Ice, legendary | Cooling | East of the Land of Absolute Zero fast travel point. | His Partner ability, Ice Steed, changes the player’s attacks to the Ice type and increases their damage while riding your (precisely) glacial steed. |
Lyleen Noct | Dark (dark) | Handiwork, Gathering, Medicine Production | From the Unthawable Lake fast travel point, go northwest to find the Alpha version. | Her Partner ability, Goddess of the Tranquil Light, will give you a lot of life back. |
Kitsune | Fire | Kindling (accensione) | Southeast of the Free Pal Alliance Tower Entrance. | One of the best mounts regardless, especially with the Partner skill. Thanks to Clear Mind you can ride in hot and cold environments, although without suffering the penalties. As long as you’re on his back, let’s be clear. |
Digtoise | Ground | Mining | A nordest di Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant. Proprio come Anubis. | Its Partner ability, Drill Crusher, will follow the player, finding every mineral possible in the meantime. It goes without saying that, if you take it with you where there is a lot of ore to collect… |
Final advice
Now that you know how to catch the various Pals and which ones are the best in Palworld, what’s left to say? In our first guide you will find the basic advice, that is: obtain the necessary duplicates to keep in a base without architectural barriers and, if possible, close to the points where the minerals are obtained. In addition to digging, your little monsters will also gain experience by carrying out their tasks. The base is also the best place to leave your things without them filling up your inventory. Try to get the best equipment for each Pal, from saddles for the best mounts to (as it may not be obvious) the most useful weapons. Oh, and add Nitewing to the list above, because it just slipped our minds.
