Zoo managers from all over the world, ready for a new adventure. Planet Zoo its expansionist campaign does not cease and is enriched, again, with a new expansion. This time it’s back to the Old World with Planet Zoo Europe Pack which brings five new species of animals to the game, a new timed challenge and many, many new building elements. Let’s find out all about Planet Zoo’s Europe Pack in this review.
Our Planet Zoo Europe Pack review
After having explored distant continents, the icy lands of the Arctic and the wild jungles of South America, we return “home”. In fact, Europe is home to many animal species that, over the years, have been loudly requested by Planet Zoo players, here are:
Five new animals and extra content
The animals introduced are 5: the Alpine ibex, the European lynx, the fallow deer, the badger and finally the fire salamander, the only show animal in this expansion. Needless to say, the four animals from Habitat are once again best represented, with the quantity and quality of detail to which Frontier Developments got used to it since the arrival of Planet Zoo.
Each animal obviously has some very specific needs and we will have to work hard to meet their daily needs. The new entries also offer interesting interactions, beautiful to see, which come along with the three new features that will be used to entertain the animals. The Alpine ibex will in fact be able to use the stones of the mountain to climb and show off its agility and will have to feed, as well as the fallow deer, from the scarecrow feeder. The European lynx and badger, on the other hand, can use the pad for scratching. So many more animations and interactions are added in the new package and it will be great to discover them all.
All to discover are also the news regarding elements of the scenario, 250 more, never so many. As per the title of the expansion, the building elements feature styles and elements from the most picturesque European locations such as Venice and Amsterdam. We have beautifully decorated fifth decks, new flora, medieval themed signs and so much more. Never before in this expansion has our creativity been able to explode.

The new timed challenge
Among the novelties of European Pack, we also find a new timed scenario entitled the Alpine Zoo of Al. In this small mountain resort we will have to introduce as many species of animals as possible before the holidays begin. It is a simple challenge but one that puts us in front of a great challenge through which to discover all the news of this expansion. In just over an hour (for the gold medal) we will have to host 20 habitat species, build a path of 2.5 km by steam train, have at least 3000 visitors and achieve a hefty annual profit.
The first impact with the resort is not the best since we are faced with a Zoo already started with 12 species of animals inside. We wasted a lot of time trying to familiarize ourselves with the place which pleasantly increased the degree of challenge. It will probably be necessary to repeat the scenario several times to reach the maximum score (we settled for a nice silver) but this is the best way to discover the expansion.
The resort is in fact divided into three distinct areas that are inspired by three European states: Italy, France and Switzerland. In this way we will have the opportunity to observe the potential of the new construction elements and all the other innovations.
The Planet Zoo Europe Pack review at a glance
Planet Zoo does not differ much from the standards of the expansions of recent years by still opting for a lot of extra content but without any additional mission of the main campaign. This, however, should not leave us dry-mouthed because the decorative elements are so many, the new timed and exciting mission and the new species introduced more than adorable. We always remember all this at € 9.99.
IIn short, are you ready for Europe?
