Completely surprising, with nothing anticipating its arrival, No Matter Studios published Praey of the Gods on PC via Steam and PS5 consoles, Xbox Series X | S (free next-gen upgrade already confirmed), PS4 and Xbox One. The game takes strong inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus, as you can see firsthand in the launch trailer, by slightly changing the formula.
Praey of the Gods is available
As it is possible to appreciate in the short video with which the launch of the game was accompanied, we are faced with an independent video game that is ambitious to say the least, although the imprint of the masterpiece of Fumito Ueda is clearly visible in virtually every aspect of production. The developers, however, fortunately, have decided to also give their distinctive touch to the video game.
Where Shadow of the Colossus focused on an at times cinematic experience, Praey of the Gods has decided to embrace even the more playful aspects of video games, adding game mechanics such as that of the crafting and elements survival to keep the player on their toes. Here is the official description of the game:
“Face huge enemies in this snow-filled open world adventure game where you play a lone hero sent to the edge of a dying frozen land to explore and solve the secrets of an endless winter. Grab, glide and grab huge beasts as you fight to survive and restore the world to proper order ”.
Despite the somewhat muted release, it is positive to see that the game has finally reached the market, given the troubled development and legal troubles with Bethesda, which forced the studio to slightly change the title (originally Prey of the Gods) because it was too similar to the Prey brand. Definitely a good result for No Matter Studios.
