Qualcomm raggiunge il downlink 5G più veloce al mondo con bande inferiori a 6 GHZ thumbnail

Qualcomm achieves the world’s fastest 5G downlink in bands below 6 GHZ

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. today announced that the modem-RF system Snapdragon X75 5G continues to push the limits of 5G performance by setting a new world record on the sub-6GHz spectrum, achieving a downlink speed of 7.5 Gbps.

Fastest 5G downlink in the world: new record signed by Qualcomm

This achievement builds on the launch of Snapdragon X75, the world’s first 5G Advanced-ready RF modem-system, announced in February at MWC Barcelona, and underscores the company’s continued efforts to improve the performance and flexibility of 5G.

The speed was achieved by harnessing a total of 300 MHz of spectrum, using 4x Carrier Aggregation (4xCA) with 4 TDD channels in a downlink connection and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) at 1024.

The aggregation of 4 TDD channels allows operators to combine their different spectrum resources to achieve higher data rates. Also, the QAM modulation at 1024 improves spectral efficiency by embedding more data in each transmission, compared to 256 QAM modulation, ultimately allowing for increased data throughput and greater spectrum efficiency.

These two features of Snapdragon X75 and the other ten global innovations of the modem-RF system allow to improve the user experience, download speed, network capacity and spectrum efficiency. These devices are future-ready and enable the most data-demanding applications, such as video streaming and downloading, online gaming and more, to run smoother than ever before, for more users.
