Qualcomm: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is coming
Qualcomm is preparing for its November 30 summit, and seems to want to revolutionize its entire Snapdragon chipset production. The next flagship model, in fact, will have the model number 8 and an abbreviation to indicate the generation, it follows that the name Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is practically confirmed, even the official announcement of the name change will come during the launch event.
The debut of the new SoC was confirmed by the company for November 30, opening day of Qualcomm’s tech summit. In short, 2022 seems to be an important year for the chip manufacturer, not just for the arrival of a new top-of-the-range chipset, but also due to small internal identity changes, probably aimed at making the products a little more accessible to the general public.
According to what has emerged so far, Qualcomm’s primary purpose is to offer a new nomenclature for its mobile platforms. It is likely at this point that even the pre-existing series will undergo some type of rebrand, in order to make the entire Qualcomm ecosystem more easily intelligible and easier to follow.
For further clarity the various chipsets will also be distinguished from colors inside the logos: the flagship series will have a color badge Oro while for the others there will be colors Midnight, Gunmetal, Nickel e Red.
