The co-writer of Return to Monkey Island Ron Gilbert announced that he will stop talking about the project with fans. Too many negative comments, with personal attacks and in bad taste. Fans seem to have disliked the style of the game’s graphics. And they did it in an uncivilized manner.
Return to Monkey Island, Rob Gilbert will no longer speak to fans
Ron Gilbert announced on his blog that: “I will close the comments. People are just bad and I have to delete personal attacks in the comments ”. The game developer has therefore decided that he prefers to avoid hearing these phrases, which are not only criticisms but attacks.
“It’s a fantastic game and everyone on the team is really proud of it. Play it or don’t play it but don’t ruin it for everyone else. I will not post anything about the game anymore. The joy of sharing has been taken away from me ”.
Return to Monkey Island has abandoned it retro style of the original game in the 90s, to adopt an advanced style instead (also because more than thirty years have passed, it is understandable that the developers wanted to try something new). Something that many have appreciated (we find it suggestive), while it has not convinced others.
According to many, however, the comments on the blog were excessively verbally violent. Something that also to protect the other team members, Gilbert could no longer support.
If you want a taste of the game, it will come first as temporal exclusive pis Nintendo Switch, you can start a mini adventure on the official website of the game that you find here. What do you think of the return of this beloved game? Are you disappointed with the graphics or eager to discover the new adventure?
