Criticized by many, the multiplayer mode of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has fully convinced us, but to find out more, read the full review!
In this review, we will focus exclusively on analyzing the mode “Multiplayer” e “Zombie” Of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIthe first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. The game is the sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare II and is the third installment in the Modern Warfare reboot subseries, as well as the twentieth installment in the renowned Call of Duty series.
Set in 2023, two years after the events of Modern Warfare II, the game offers an engaging narrative in which the members of Task Force 141 face a new terrorist threat represented by the Russian Federation, which has invaded the United States. However, our focus in this review will be exclusively on the dynamics and experiences offered by Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer and zombies mode.
Multiplayer | Review Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 offers, in our opinion, one of the best multiplayer experiences in the entire series. This is the best multiplayer the franchise has seen since Black Ops 3, which was a diamond in the rough amidst franchise fatigue with titles like Ghosts and Advanced Warfare. Simply put, this is the best Call of Duty has looked in years.
Sledgehammer Games has eliminated all restrictions on movement, giving players greater freedom and fun. The sliding, diving and more responsive jumps made us feel truly in control of our soldier. Furthermore, the longer time-to-kill adds a new dynamic to firefights.
Even players who don’t like slide-cancelling will appreciate the smooth, snappy movement and gunplay. Sledgehammer has proven itself receptive to community feedbackmaking changes to the game based on player requests.
The sound effects I am particularly well looked after. The weapons sound realistic, and the feedback helps players understand when they fire accurate shots. The environments are well reproduced, with background sounds that contribute to creating an immersive atmosphere. The ability to detect enemy footsteps is another plus.
Speaking of maps, these are a transposition of those present in the iconic chapters. First of all, the original maps were already well designed, and Sledgehammer Games did a great job of faithfully recreating them. These are visually successful, with detailed textures. The nostalgia effect is strong, but not all players may appreciate this choice.
The wide variety of weapons offers something for everyone. However, some accessories are practically identical to those of the previous chapter. Furthermore, the quantity of the latter is excessive.
In this regard I do SBMM, or Skill-Based Matchmaking, we can say that we have not encountered any problems. Our rate of 1.72 puts us in the category of non-novice players, but we were not penalized in any way. We also tested it in crossplay and nothing changed.
Zombie | Review Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
The mode, developed by Treyarch, is a mix of Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak mode and Modern Warfare II’s DMZ. Players drop into Urzikstan, an open world setting, to complete contracts and gather resources.
The mode is fun and engaging, but it also has some issues. First, it is repetitive. The zombie waves are always the same, and there isn’t much variety in the gameplay. Furthermore, it is too easy. Even less experienced players can survive for a long period of time.
The Urzikstan map It’s well designed and offers a variety of environments to explore. The progression system is well crafted and gives players a sense of progression. However, these elements are not enough to compensate for the problems of repetitiveness and ease.
Let’s sum it up | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 review
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 stands out as a title that offers a high-quality multiplayer experience, positioning itself as one of the best in the series since Black Ops 3. Sledgehammer Games has given a new dynamism to movement and gunplay, abandoning the restrictions and welcoming community feedback in a timely manner. The well-curated sound effects and nostalgic maps contribute to creating an engaging atmosphere. In the zombie sector, led by Treyarch, Modern Warfare 3 introduces a fun mode, albeit with some flaws.
