Revolut and Visa together to test a new solution for digital payments on the go
The activity includes the free distribution of Revolut/Visa debit cards to departing passengers. Travelers will be able to obtain a card from five sophisticatedly designed vending machines located in strategic areas of the airport and link it to their Revolut account to get cashback on the first transaction. Additionally, travelers will also have the chance to win tickets to sporting events by entering a competition.
The cards enjoy the vast capillarity of the Visa network and are accepted in 200 countries and by over 100 million merchants worldwideone of the key factors for travelers departing from the airport.
Forecasts for the summer season that has just begun estimate an increase in the propensity of Italians to travel to European destinations, with volumes increasing by 36% during the spring holidays compared to the same period last year.
Positive signals are also recorded in non-European destinations, up 9% from 2019. The United States is the most popular destination outside of Europe for Italian travelers this year, while France and Spain rank first in Europe.
The goal of the experiment of Revolut and Visa
Aiming to become the main account for many people in Italy and Europe, Revolut it is also considered a great travel companion thanks to the features that simplify the life of travelers abroad: from online, in-person and contactless payments, to currency exchange at competitive exchange rates, passing through transactions and withdrawals in other currencies without hidden fees and more.
With the Revolut super app, cards can be blocked and unblocked at any time with a single tap, and every spend is notified to the customer with a push notification. In the event of theft or loss of the card, customers can receive a new card within a few days wherever they are in the world.
Revolut customers receive up to 10% cashback when booking accommodation with “Stays” and Premium, Metal and Ultra customers can also benefit from travel insurance with medical, flight delay and lost baggage coverage, as well as access to lounges airports.
