Revolut takes another step towards the super app: indeed it arrives Revolut Chat, the instant messaging feature to talk, send GIFs and stickers while customers send and request money. To make all transactions more “human”.
Revolut Chat, to chat while sending or requesting money
A study of Revolut e Dynata out of a thousand Italians has shown that the 60% have difficulty talking about money. Revolut Chat wants to make the exchange of money by allowing you to keep the discussion within the fintech app, without going to your other private chats. But without losing the opportunity to play down with GIFs and stickers.
To access this feature people simply need to access the “Payments” function, within the Revolut app. The chat window opens just by tapping one of your contacts. The chat is also incorporated with the Send function, to make transactions even easier.
For the rest, the chats work like all the messaging apps you are used to by now. Just type and then tap the blue arrow icon to send your messages. Which will be end-to-end encrypted to ensure your privacy. You can also deactivate the function if you prefer and block annoying contacts. Chat feature noon is available for users under 18.
Nikolay Storonsky, CEO of Revolut, said: “We are delighted to bring instant messaging to our customers, taking us one step closer to the global finance superapp concept. We’ve listened to our customers who said they would discuss and clarify payment details within the app, instead of having to switch between Revolut and different messaging apps to send or receive funds.
“The new chat feature supports our customers with their fast and low-cost money transfers using Revolut. We want to give our customers more control over their financial well-being through the use of our technology by offering a service that meets all their financial needs in one place.”
To use the chat, all you need is iOS or Android app version 8.72 or later.
