With an announcement arrived in the past few hours, Holoride, a startup supported by Audi, formalizes the intent to launch its own cryptocurrency: RIDE. But that’s not all: a real revolution for car travel is on the way.
RIDE: Holoride announces the launch of the cryptocurrency and more
If we told you that our cars could become an integral part of a new metaverse, would you believe it? And no, we don’t mean avatars on four wheels, but of a form of entertainment that physically enters our vehicles while we travel. The idea comes from Holoride, a startup supported by Audi, who is thinking of one new form of entertainment for car travel. Obviously for now it is only a concept, and in any case it would obviously only concern the passengers and not the driver (perhaps).
For now, in reality, very little is known, and the few details available come from Nils Wollny, CEO and co-founder of Holoride. Here are his words:
“People want entertainment when they go on a road trip. To date this request is not fully satisfied by the market, which is why we are thinking of something new. The basic idea is to create a new type of media for those sitting in the rear seats. We decided to call it Elastic Content and our revolutionary approach will change the passenger experience forever, transforming vehicles into theme parks on four wheels “
What does all this have to do with cryptocurrencies? Lawful question. The entire XR system, on which this new form of entertainment will be based, will be linked to the blockchain. And the new cryptocurrency in question will be called RIDE. This will be used to buy and sell NFTs within the new Holoride ecosystem. In short, games, travel, shopping and cryptomarket: all inside your own moving car. And what if we add that to that Holoride aims at self-driving vehicles? In practice, it will be possible to experience a journey in which all participants will not have to worry about taking over or driving.
But returning for a moment to RIDE: Holoride has a ceiling of 1 billion tokens. The launch is expected shortly, although no date has been announced, with the price per RIDE of 0,04 $.
