On the occasion of the CES 2022 Asus PLEASE presented a long conference aimed at presenting the latest news regarding the company’s gaming hardware and its line-up for 2022. The event, which lasted about an hour, saw many different products alternate . Without further ado, let’s go and discover them all one by one, from peripherals to laptops.
ROG: CES 2022 announcements
ROG Fusion II 500
The conference opened with the presentation of ROG Fusion II 500, a new headset that proposes itself as a new standard in terms of gaming headset.
The ROG Fusion II 300 uses high-resolution ESS 9280 technology via a Quad DAC. These headphones deliver virtual 7.1 surround sound via 50mm Essence drivers for powerful bass. Asus also took care of the microphone, equipped with AI beamforming technology with artificial intelligence noise cancellation.
Fusion II 500 also has an in-game chat volume control which allows players to prioritize audio or chat to communicate clearly with teammates in the game. These headphones connect via a 3.5mm Mini-Jack, USB-C or even USB Type A and are compatible with PC, MAC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and mobile devices.
Please Stix Flare II Animated
ROG Strix Flare II Animated is a full-sized keyboard with multimedia keys. Most of the keys on gaming keyboards are placed on the right side, above the numeric keypad, but the programmable metal volume roller and Asus keyboard shortcuts are located in reverse on the left side. The space above the numeric keypad is instead reserved for the so-called “display LED AniMe Matrix” keyboard.
AniMe Matrix consists of 312 mini LED programmable via software to display customized images or animations. It is also possible to set the mini LEDs to react to sounds coming from the game in use or to provide useful indicators to determine the battery life, the brightness of the keyboard or the current RGB lighting mode.
As if that weren’t enough, ROG Strix Flare II Animate and its non-animated counterpart, ROG Strix Flare II (also), have a polling rate of 8,000 Hz, which should minimize command input lag.
Mouse gaming wireless Chakram
The mouse gaming wireless Chakram X is the first to introduce ROG AimPoint, an optical sensor developed by ROG that offers a new level of speed and accuracy with up to 36,000 dpi and random polling of 8,000 Hz. The AimPoint sensor offers unmatched accuracy with a lower CPI deviation 1%, well below the industry average (which is 3%).
The sensitivity level of the sensor can be adjusted via the button DPI at the bottom of the mouse or while playing with the DPI-on-the-Scroll function. Chakram X features tri-mode connectivity via wired USB, low-latency 2.4GHz RF and Bluetooth.
The Chakram X sports a new concave joystick design that offers a more comfortable grip and is easier to use than its predecessor. It offers the user levels of control similar to a gamepad: The joystick can be programmed and used in analog or digital mode, along with four buttons to emulate configuration A, B, X and Y. The left and right mouse buttons at the top feature a swivel mechanism to ensure quick response and a tactile sensation.
The updated design of the switch socket Push-Fit II is now hot-swappable with both 3-pin mechanical and 5-pin optical switches, allowing gamers to customize click strength and extend mouse life.
The top cover and screwless magnetic buttons provide easy access to the switches, customizable logo and housing of the wireless RF receiver. The Chakram has 100% PTFE mouse feet and includes ROG Paracord for smooth, unrestricted movement, even while charging. For added convenience, the battery can be charged via USB or wirelessly with Qi standard.
Asus Rog Zephyrus G14
The first of the gaming notebooks presented by the company is Asus Rog Zephyrus G14, which is configured as the entry level model for the 2022 line-up. Net of some inevitable compromise for a device of the kind Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 aims to offer full support to most of the titles of this generation, thanks also CPU e GPU integrated with a lot of AMD cutting edge.
The estimated battery life of approx 10 ore and the cooling system designed by the companions in this round, which thanks to a steam room it should be able to reduce the temperature of the PC by 10 degrees.
The spearhead of this model is undoubtedly the integrated display from 16:10 which can be used in two different configurations, depending on our needs: QHD from 120Hz and 500nit, or FHD from 144Hz and 400nits. Finally, as the icing on the cake, the AniMe Matrix system is not lacking here to guarantee maximum customization.
Asus Rog SE Duo 16
At the top of this year’s ROG range, however, it sits without a doubt Rog West Duo 16, another gaming notebook this time, however, characterized by the presence of the ROG ScreenPad Plus, or a second screen positioned between the main display and the keyboard designed specifically to offer a plethora of extra features to the most hardcore gamers, as well as guaranteeing a much more immersive experience.
The presence of the secondary display, however, did not prevent the company from pressing the accelerator on the main one: it is in fact possible to select the ROG Nebula HDR display or the exclusive ROG display developed in collaboration with BOE called the Dual Spec panel. at 16:10 can count on panel Mini LED QHD with a refresh rate of 165Hz and HDR 1000 technology.
The Dual Spec panel, by contrast, offers the ability to switch between 4K 120Hz a Full HD 240Hz so you can choose how to play depending on the games
Of course, to always guarantee high-quality performance, as a graphics card we find one NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with MUX Switch and 150W TGP, which is accompanied by a processor AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX. Finally, to complete this luxurious package we have support for WiFi 6e connectivity and a 90Wh battery with fast charging support.
Asus ROG Flow Z13
Right after the racing laptop to close ROG’s CES 2022 was Asus ROG Flow Z13, or a 13-inch tablet designed with only one thing in mind: gaming in portability. Play everywhere, of course, but without making too many compromises; something easier said than done but one that ROG seems to have managed to accomplish quite efficiently.
The tablet is sold together with its keyboard, so that you can play effectively in practically any circumstance. while the design winks at the previous models, presenting an aesthetic with cyberpunk features. Also in this case the display has a configuration a 16:10 and with a maximum brightness that should touch 500 cd / m2.
Regarding the resolution, two versions will be available: 4K a 60Hz oppure FullHD a 120Hz. Under the body instead we find graphics cards Nvidia GeForce 3050Ti as well as processors Intel Core i9 12900H. Here, too, we find full support for WiFi 6e and a wide range of connectivity options USB-A, USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, HDMI and microSD reader.
As for the cooling system, ROG has also opted in this case for a vapor chamber combined with liquid metal technology, in order to always guarantee maximum performance.
