We already know that Samsung plans to unveil two foldable phones at its August 11 event, thanks to numerous rumors and leaks: the company is expected to reveal the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unfortunately though, the bad news is that the new Samsung Galaxy Note will not be present.
There won’t be a new Samsung Galaxy Note this year
Dr. TM Roh, from Samsung, officially revealed that the company will launch two new foldable smartphones during the August 11 event. He said we can expect a new Z Flip device and a new Z Fold. “The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold combines the best that smartphones and tablets offer and offers entirely new ways to work, connect and create. While the next Z Flip shows an even more refined style, armed with more durable and resistant materials, ”explained the executive.
This isn’t the only time Roh talks about durability, as he says third-generation leaflets will offer “improved durability”. For what it’s worth, Android Police writer Max Weinbach said the phones are rated IPX8 for water resistance. But let’s hope the focus on durability extends to more than just the water-resistant design and focuses on the screens too.
Previous entries also indicate the inclusion of the S Pen holder on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Roh says that at the event we can expect “the first S Pen designed specifically for foldable phones”. The S Pen’s support for foldable devices only means one thing for the Galaxy Note. Roh had stated earlier this year that there wouldn’t be a Galaxy Note in 2021 and today it seems to reiterate this point. Bad news, in short, for fans of the Note series.
“Instead of unveiling a new Galaxy Note, we will further expand the beloved Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices.”
