The crisis also seems to have hit Samsung that could aver reduced the production of its smartphones for the next few months. The economic crisis is slowing down a large part of the sector, causing a general contraction in production volumes. The Korean company also has to deal with reality by cutting the targets set for 2022.
Samsung cuts smartphone production
According to a new report that appeared online in these hours, Samsung would reduce its smartphone production for the next few months. The Korean giant, in fact, could have cut part of the activities planned for its plants in Vietnam who have a capacity of 100 million units per year.
According to preliminary information, some lines of these factories would only work at half rate, with 3 days of activity each week. This cut will lead to a reduction in units available over the next few months and is linked to actual market demand.
At the moment, the nature of the production cut is still unclear. The decline could only relate to low-end models that, following a slowdown in demand, would have accumulated in retailers’ warehouses. More details on the matter will certainly arrive over the next few weeks.
Recall that Samsung is preparing to present the new generation of Galaxy Z folding with the launch of the new Fold and Flip scheduled for next week.
