According to data provided by Omdia, a market research firm, Samsung Electronics retained its lead in the global television (TV) market again this year. A first place that has lasted for 18 years now.
Samsung confirms itself as leader in the TV market: the numbers
In 2023, Samsung has caught up a market share of 30.1% in terms of turnover, confirming its leadership in the sector which has lasted since 2006. The key to success was certainly the strategy focused on high-quality, large-sized TVsespecially given the high demand for the models QLED e OLED. In particular:
- Samsung’s QLED line, launched in 2017, has surpassed 40 million units sold (8.31 million of which in 2023 alone).
- In the high-end TV segment, Samsung achieved a 60.5% share for models costing more than $2,500 (and 33.9% for those over 75 inches)
- TVs larger than 90 inches had a market share of 30.4% (thanks largely to the popularity of 98-inch models).
- In the OLED segment, Samsung sold 1.01 million units in 2023, achieving a share of 22.7%.
