According to what Samsung itself says, it is only of the start of the Galaxy Automatic Repair program. For now, the program includes only a few devices with limited parts. However, in the future, the list will expand.
Currently, Samsung supports serie Galaxy S20, S21 e S22. For phones, you can access the display assembly, back cover and charging ports – and replace if needed. For series laptops Galaxy Book Pro: you can access the display, battery, touchpad, fingerprint power button, front case, back case and eraser. For TVs with model numbers UN32N4000AFXKR, UN32N4010AFXKR e UN32N4020AFXKRand you can access company-provided panels.
The service is already active in the USA and South Korea and may expand to other countries. However, Samsung warns that DIY repairs aren’t for everyone and require some skill and caution. If customers don’t feel confident that they can fix their smartphones themselves, that’s for the best rely on qualified personnel from Samsung or an authorized service centre. Otherwise, you risk damaging the device or voiding the warranty.
But for those with technical skills, it becomes possible to fix their devices without much hassle. And this service also allows “unaffiliated” repairers to Samsung to obtain original parts. Giving more choice to consumers.
