Global smartphone sales are in sharp decline. This is confirmed by the new Canalys report which highlights a 9% reduction in sales of new smartphones during the second quarter of 2022 compared to the data collected in the same quarter of last year. Here is the data:

How are the sales of the producers going?
Leading the smartphone market in terms of sales volumes is Samsung with a market share of 21%. The Korean company, however, recorded a net slowdown compared to the previous quarter, which closed with a much higher market share. In any case, solid leadership in the sector is confirmed for the Korean manufacturer.
Second position, with a 17% share, for Apple that comes before Xiaomi, third with 14% of overall sales of new devices. Rounding out the Top 5 producers with the highest sales volumes in the quarter is OPPO e Vivo which, respectively, reach 10% and 9% of sales. staying on very similar levels.
