Solve for Tomorrow: A Samsung project and podcast for GenZ

Samsung Electronics Italia today launches the new edition of Solve for Tomorrow – THE VOICE of your generationa project that involves young people between 15 and 18 in the creation of three new episodes of the podcast dedicated to Generation Z (those born between 2000 and 2012), to tell their stories and experiences.

After all, let’s talk about the generation who experienced firsthand the effects of the pandemic, which had a negative impact on their psycho-physical balance. A Censis research reveals that the mental illness of adolescents doubled from 2019 to 2021, going from 3.2% to 6.2%, and that many of them suffer from social anxiety (32%), uncertainty about the future (45% ) and loneliness (39%).

Furthermore, the phenomenon ofhikikomori: according to the CNR, there are 50,000 young people who have chosen to voluntarily isolate themselves from the outside world due to existential discomfort.

Faced with this situation, Samsung wants to support GenZ to express their needs and spread positive messages, through the medium of the podcast, which has already achieved over 10,000 listens on the Samsung website and Spotify since its first release in January 2023.

Come partecipare a Samsung Solve for Tomorrow

Solve for Tomorrow – THE VOICE is aimed at students between 15 and 18 who are passionate about storytelling. The competition offers the opportunity to create a podcast on one of the topics that most interest Generation Z and to follow a training course with industry experts.

To participate, it is necessary to form a team of three to five students and send, by 1 October 2023a presentation of the chosen theme and a 90-second audio trailer on the Samsung site.

The competition is also valid as a PCTO activity for the fourth and fifth year of high school, who can register on the educazionedigitale.it website and complete the course by 07/31/2023.

Among all the projects received, three teams will be selected to participate in a training course between November and December, which includes theoretical and practical lessons with podcasting experts and moments of discussion on topics related to adolescence. The journey will end with four days of bootcamp in Milanwhere the teams will record episodes of the second season of the podcast.

THE VOICE of your generation

The podcast will be online starting January 2024 on Spotify. The competition is free and Samsung covers all participants’ travel, food and accommodation expenses.
