Gwynne Shotwell defends Elon Musk from sexual assault charges
“Personally, I believe the allegations are false; not because I work for Elon, but because I have worked closely with him for 20 years and have never seen or heard anything resembling these allegations “. So wrote Gwynne Shotwell in the email sent to her employees. “Anyone who knows Elon like me, he knows that he would never lead or forgive this allegedly inappropriate behavior.” The statements come after Business Insider released a report revealing that SpaceX has paid compensation of $ 250,000 to a former flight attendant after she accused Musk of molesting her. For his part, the entrepreneur has denied the allegations.
“If I were prone to sexual harassment, it would be unlikely this would be the first time in my entire 30-year career that she has come to light,” said Elon Musk. In this regard, in the email to employees Gwynne Shotwell stated that in the company “every allegation of harassment is taken very seriously, regardless of who is involved”, and that SpaceX HR investigates all complaints it receives. On the other hand, it is known that the company adopts a “no A-hole” policy when it comes to employee behavior. Although in the past some employees have admitted to having been victims of sexual harassment, without the Human Resources department intervening in any way. And that leaves the question quite unresolved.
