On the occasion of breast cancer prevention, Street Fighter 5 is collaborating with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), one of the most research funders in the sector. The partnership takes the form of themed costumes for the characters of Chun-Li and Ryu, available in the game versions per PS4 e Steam starting from 12 October, and until 12 November. The costumes will be sold individually or in bundles, and all proceeds received will go to breast cancer research.
Street Fighter 5 supports breast cancer prevention
According to the latest data, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 14 seconds. In fact, this year alone, 685,000 women have lost their lives due to cancer. Fortunately, however, research is making great strides: in the United States alone, there are deaths from breast cancer decreased by 40% since BCRF was founded.
“This year, breast cancer has become the most common cancer in the world, affecting 2.3 million people,” he said Myra Biblowit, President and CEO of BCRF. “The need for better and more effective treatments has never been greater. We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight this critical need through Capcom. Through this partnership, we are ready to have a direct and tangible impact on the advancement of life-saving science, together ”.
The Street Fighter 5 initiative fits perfectly in this context. The game has made available the purchase of pink costumes for Chun-Li and Ryu, with the aim of donating the proceeds to research. The minimum donation guaranteed by Capcom is $ 25,000. A considerable figure, which will give a further boost to studies that already travel at very high speeds.
