Let’s face it, the new video game from Rocksteady Studios has disappointed expectations. With what they had revealed to us about the game, we expected a leap forward compared to Batman Arkham Knight, but the fact is that it was already difficult in itself to surpass that masterpiece. We will publish the review as soon as possible, but first we want to talk to you about the protagonists of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Let’s start with the undisputed protagonist: Harley Quinn. Believe it or not, the character he didn’t originate in comics. Harley, in fact, made his first appearance in the Batman animated series from the 90s. From the beginning she Harley was in love with Joker, but in the animated series she didn’t have a backstory yet, she was simply crazy enough to do anything for the man she loved. A peculiarity about Harley, however, was that she initially Harley just wanted to find out who Batman was, but he never wanted to hurt him. Basically she was born as a deranged woman who didn’t want to hurt anyone. Obviously the DC Comics changed the history of the character, always starting from the base seen in the Batman animated series, but adding more background and features.
Harleen Quinzel was a psychiatristwho he meets during a day of work at Arkham Asylum Joker, with whom he falls in love. Since then Harleen’s life has been turned upside down and she changes her name to Harley Quinn. Her love for Joker led her to become a supervillain, killing many innocents under Joker’s orders. The relationship between the two is toxic, almost deadly, in fact Joker several times it almost killed her. Tired of the mistreatment, Harley lashes out at Joker and even teams up with Batman, for whom she also has feelings that the Dark Knight doesn’t reciprocate. However, there is also one of her love interests Poison Ivywith whom he embarked on a relationship, and the two of them, together with Catwomanform the group Gotham Sirens. Once free from Joker, Harley becomes a sort of anti-heroine.

Floyd Lawton, also known as Deadshot, is another Batman character from a very interesting background. He had a very difficult childhood, in which his father was a truly horrible man. His mother tried to convince him and his brother Eddie to kill him, but if Eddie was up to it, Floyd wasn’t. The moment he tried to stop his brother from killing their father, Floyd unintentionally killed Eddie. Years later Floyd had a son who he named Eddie, to honor his brother. However, when his mother kidnapped him to convince him to finish the work he had started, little Eddie was accidentally killed. Floyd, enraged as never before, he committed a massacre and made his mother paraplegic.
Deadshot seems like an evil character, who has no scruples and has no mercy for anyone in achieving his goals. Actually, he has feelings toothanks to the existence of his daughter Zoe. The little girl lives in Star City with her mother and, when she can, she goes to visit her to spend some good times between father and daughter. The character is famous for being the deadliest sniper in the world. His fighting tactics are amazing, he uses the environment to his advantage and manages to kill the target even if out of sight. In fact, it has technology that allows it to see the trajectory of the ricochet of the bullet which would then eliminate the target.

This character, Captain Boomerangwhose real name is George “Digger” Harknessreached the general public thanks to the first film by Suicide Squad. The character is essentially what we have seen both in the cinema and in the TV series. Mainly a Flash’s opponentCaptain Boomerang is a very bizarre supervillain who operates mostly in Central City, the city protected by the sprinter superhero. In both the comics and the films he has no background and they don’t give us much of a way to empathize with him.
However, the character is in itself very funny, in fact in every media in which he appears it is always the comical part. He was part of another team besides the Suicide Squad, namely the Flash Enemies Gallery, a team of supervillains who work together to kill Barry Allen (sort of like the Sinister Six, but from DC). George Harkness is a low-ranking criminal who, however, always seeks a challenge with Flash, because he madly loves to fight against him and have fun. Life as a bank robber is the lifestyle he prefers, he can’t live without the adrenaline rush caused by the risk of being arrested. Captain Boomerang is a crazy guy who likes to have fun.

Contrary to what his low IQ and childish behavior might suggest, King Shark is the strongest member of the team. His superhuman strength is explained by his nature and his origins: Naive he is the son of Shark God. Exactly, Nanaue is a demigod and, in the beginning, she was an unrestrained killing machine that killed everyone she met along the way, even going as far as eat one’s mother’s arm because of his hunger. He mainly clashed with Superboy during his first attacks, but this is also a case where King Shark is more of an antihero than a villain.
After collaborating with Aquamanwhich also confirmed Nanaue’s origins as the son of the Shark God, began to be calmer and more talkative. If before he was not capable of reasoning and ate and killed even those who tried to help him, over time Nanaue became more intelligent and capable of collaborating. In fact, he also found himself working for the Lex Luthor’s Secret Society. However, he also turned out to be an ally of Arthur Curry, in fact he had received the task from the old Aquaman to help the new one to accept his role, which Nanaue did. A character with many nuances, who starts out as a meat slayer and then becomes an ally of the heroes on some occasions.
A team of deranged people
These four characters, together, form one of the most iconic and famous teams in the world of DC Comics. They are united by theirs insanity and mental instability, which makes their bond very funny and at times even adorable. Together they really make a good team, putting on some nice little scenes in which they argue, try to kill each other, but over time they grow fond of each other and become great friends. This formula was well proposed only by James Gunn in the second Suicide Squad film, but in itself you love this team, for better or for worse, with their strengths and weaknesses.
