Also according to the study conducted by Kantar, it emerged that online purchases, even when it comes to smartphones, are now a consolidated practice.
In fact, 72% of the interviewees consider the purchase of the device online. This trend is especially evident in the regions of Valle d’Aosta (90%), Abruzzo (87%) and Lombardy (86%), and particularly involves the younger age groups, between 18 and 34 years old. .
Furthermore, consumers recognize that preferring a refurbished smartphone to a new one is a sustainable choice, because it respects the environment and promotes the circular economy. Another fundamental aspect for consumers is the economic savings that are hidden behind this purchase.
The barrier of sale
If when it comes to buying a smartphone online the consideration of Italians is high, the situation changes when it comes to selling their smartphone. In fact, while half of the interviewees would consider selling both online and in physical stores, 23% declare themselves not interested in selling their device. Only 12% of respondents actually sold their old smartphone, while over half preferred to keep it as a spare smartphone (66%).
