3 Indie Video Games of November
Let’s find out together which are the best independent games chosen for this month.
1. Pathea Games – My Time At Sandrock
My Time at Sandrock fits perfectly into the genre of farming simulator, capable not only of relaxing, but also of creating a sense of community and responsibility towards a small world to be protected. The game incorporates the mechanics of the previous one in all respects My Time at Portialet’s find out together what it has in store for us!
This second chapter introduces us to one long series of new elements, capable of completely renewing the gaming experience and enticing even those who had completed the previous chapter to set off on a new adventure. My Time at Sandrock is a post-apocalyptic western adventure set in the desert, where people have been forced to start their lives over. Simpler, made up of agriculture and menial jobs.
We are faced with a microcosm: from the first minutes of the game we felt the thrill of a new beginning and the thrill of exploring a whole new world. There is a large variety of shops, pubs, residents’ houses, farms, paddocks with animals and all the essential elements that characterize a lively and welcoming village.
Without giving too much away, we can promise you that, despite the game mechanics already seen and perhaps repetitive, the missions are always enjoyable. With its carefree and fairy-tale aspect, My Time at Sandrock deals with important and delicate themes with great simplicity (but not banality) and naivety, teaching those who play to take care of the planet, to respect nature and people.
2. Broken Bird Games – Luto
This second choice, however, is less relaxing. The wait is becoming less and less, and even if we don’t yet have the definitive title in hand, Luto is the horror film that we have selected for you among the best indies of the month of November. Coming soon November 30th in demo version, Broken Bird Games offers us the chance to get our hands on this title in development, but now on its way to completion. Let’s find out together how this first test went!
The new interactive tale of Broken Bird sees us guide a man unable to leave his own home. Full of memories and monstrous deceptions and traps, often of a psychological nature. The objective to be achieved is to help our alter-ego to overcome his phobias, through a series of challenges to overcome in an ever-changing context.
What we know so far is that Luto’s narrative follows the evolution of the activities carried out by the players to realize the vision of a house, which changes dynamically depending on the fears faced by the character. The horror microcosms in which to immerse oneself, and from which to escape like hell, will thus represent in a plastic way phenomena such as anxiety, depression, claustrophobia and other fears experienced by your character.
Ready for different jump scares and intricate puzzles to solve with lots of anxiety and adrenaline?
3. Black Salt Games – DREDGE: The Pale Reach
Dredge was one of the protagonist indie games of 2023 and Dredge: The Pale Reach has arrived these days. An expansion that does not touch the fishing and tension-based gameplay, but only adds an area in the southern area of the map. Let’s find out together what this new DLC provides!
In this expansion, chosen from the best indie releases of November, mysteries, new upgrades, new prey to fish and even ruthless predators lurking await us, introducing a biome with snow and ice as protagonists. We can get there at any point in the main adventurepointing towards the large question mark on the map.
Being a low-cost DLC, you can’t expect incredible longevity. There were enough about 2 hours of gameplay to fully squeeze the contents offered by this expansion. Little more if you also want to complete the few secondary quests present, and collect all the fish exclusive to this part of the world.
Nothing huge therefore, a small but substantial DLC, in every sense. The only new element he adds is an enemy always on the hunt when you invade his territory, to increase the rate of challenge and tension. If you loved Dredge in his basic mission, this expansion may be for you.
