The minister Giancarlo Giorgetti has just signed the implementing decree of the Fund for the development of technologies and applications of artificial intelligence, blockchain and internet of things, established in Bet with an initial endowment from 45 million euros. This initiative aims to promote the competitiveness and productivity of Italian sector industries with research and technological innovation projects linked to the transition 4.0 program.
Bets: $ 45 million for artificial intelligence and blockchain
According to what is read in the decree, the funds are not fixed at 45 million, but can be further increased through contributions volunteers of organizations, associations, companies and individual citizens. “The capacity for innovation is the prerequisite for strengthening and making our country’s production system competitive in the face of the challenges of the digital transition”, explained Minister Giorgetti, who is already looking to the future of new technologies.
As if that were not enough, these funds can be combined with national or community funds and resources in order to facilitate integration with European and national research funding. In particular, it is envisaged that a portion of the financing will be reserved for the activities located in Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia.
However, if within six months from the opening of the deadlines for the submission of applications the projects linked to these regions have not started, these resources can also be used for requests arriving from all over the national territory. To monitor the progress of the development projects, application and technology transfer to companies, Il Mise will make use of the support of Infratel.
In short, it is an initiative designed to project the country towards the future and which, hopefully, will find a sounding board among the various companies scattered throughout the national fabric.
