In spite of the widespread trend on the sale of smartphones, Apple seems to have registered a 3% increase in iPhone shipments compared to the same period of the previous year. At the same time, however, devices such as Macs, iPads and wearables have suffered a severe blow to sales. A situation that could prevent the company from raising prices as it had planned, although it seems that the iPhone 14 will still have an increase in the average selling price. Word of Mark Gurman.
iPhone 14: the price of the new series could be higher than the current one
Close to the launch of the iPhone 14, Apple is experiencing a somewhat difficult situation. The Cupertino giant is already facing a slowdown in product sales, and it is clear that it does not want to drive consumers away with a further increase in prices. Although this is not a very distant hypothesis, given that the new one MacBook Air M2 is on sale at a slightly higher cost than the previous model. And it would not seem to be the only product to see an increase. Earlier this month, in fact, a report claimed that the price of the iPhone 14 it could increase by $ 100 compared to the current series.
Since the new series will be without the mini model, the base iPhone may cost more despite not having major upgrades compared to the current model. Unlike the 6.1-inch Pro model and 6.7-inch Pro Max, the standard model will not feature a new chip, a revamped design, or a high-resolution camera. According to rumors, the standard iPhone 14 will only get one improved selfie camera it’s a satellite connectivity. A little bit for such an important price increase, let’s face it. Yet, apparently, the Cupertino company seems to have clear ideas: the average price of the devices will increase.
