In recent weeks we have entrusted the daily cleaning of the floor to Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10. “Cleaning” because in reality it not only takes care of sucking up the dirt but, thanks to the special cloth and the water tank, it is also able to wash the floor.
We don’t anticipate the conclusions but we want to tell you one thing right away, actually two.
The first is the price: 359,99 € listed but in reality you can often find it under €300, which undoubtedly makes it affordable.
The second is that Xiaomi has certainly made progress in recent years. Navigation has improved, the map is more precise and the Xiaomi Home app, contrary to the past, has not given us any headaches.
All this translates into an undoubtedly interesting user experience, especially when compared to the cost of the product.

Inside the package there is everything you need: the robot vacuum cleaner, the charging base with its power supply, the rotating brush, the tank for dust and water, the washing cloth with its support and obviously the user manual. instructions.
It takes just a few minutes to assemble everything, configuration included.
Design
We would like to tell you that Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 sports an original and innovative design but, alas, this is not the case. However, we cannot blame them since most of the manufacturers have settled on the circular shape with a front bumper and a possible sensor turret.
The S10 is therefore perfectly in line with the rest of the family, with two buttons on top which allow you to start cleaning or ask the robot to return to base.

Part of the cover can be lifted to access the reservoir. As anticipated, it is divided into two parts: the main one, much larger, is dedicated to dust while the secondary one, with a rubberised closure, is for clean water.
If you want to use the robot vacuum cleaner also for washing, however, it will not be enough to add water to the appropriate housing, you will also have to place the cloth on its holder and then attach it to the main body.
Keep in mind that there is no second cloth included in the package, which means that you will be temporarily without it when you decide to wash it, an operation that we advise you to do at least every 4-5 washes.
The rest of the lower part houses the wheels, the side brush and the main one.
We conclude with the small charging base which is slightly higher than the robot and you can place it practically anywhere: it is compact, discreet and the cable is long enough to reach the most comfortable outlet for you.
Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 review: eat if you behave?
The last time a Xiaomi robot vacuum entered this house we thought it was a bit too aggressive. She cleaned very well but had a tendency to bump into walls and furniture as well as a propensity to move things around.
With Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 the experience was very different.
First of all navigation, thanks to the LDS sensor for distance, is more precise. And it’s the mapping is also more precise, with our house helper who managed to reconstruct a large part of the balcony without ever being there, only thanks to what he saw through the French windows scattered throughout the house.
There have been no accidents, very few objects have been moved from their original location and the relationship with the carpets also seems to have improved, even if the suggestion is always to remove them.
The suction power is 4.000 Pa but not all of them are provided. It depends on the mode.
The app allows you to decide how to vacuum by choosing between Quiet, Standard, High Power and Turbo.
Two things to consider when deciding which one to use:
Generally know that S10 allows you to bring home the result without too much difficulty, with washing that helps you remove very light stains and above all the most insistent dust. It doesn’t replace the actual washing of the floor, at a certain point picking up the mop, but on the other hand, daily cleaning is certainly more effective.
Here too the application comes into play because you can decide with just a few taps the flow of water what can be Low, Medium or High. In no case, however, will the floor remain wet, a few seconds and it will be walkable again.
Not bad even the battery with the Chinese company that promises 130 minutes of battery life.
However, the apartment in which we tested it is quite small, about 50 square meters, and on average, with a single pass, it takes 30 minutes to clean it, after which the robot will return to its base for recharging.

Xiaomi Home is the app that allows you to manage everything remotely.
From here, check the area cleaned during the last session, the duration and the current status of the battery; then you have the map, with the current position of S10, and two icons to quickly indicate the area to be cleaned.
The application, available for Android and iOS, allows you to also decide the mode – Suction, Scrubbing or both – and to define how to clean and how to vacuum.
Then there are a number of additional features for map management: you can delimit and rename rooms, create virtual walls or manage all maps. And yes, there is multi-floor support.
There is also the possibility of programming cleaning, viewing the status of various consumables and flagging two options that serve to vacuum along the edges and to ask the Xiaomi robot to clean twice.
Nothing is missingnot even support for firmware updates, voice assistants and automations.
