Publisher PLAION and the famous Atari brand have announced the return of three historic games for the console Atari 7800.

It’s about Fatal Run, Food Fight e Ninja Golf. Three titles that have made the history of retrogaming and which will be available in new cartridges also compatible with the Atari 2600+ console. In particular:

  • Fatal Run: a racing game set in a post-apocalyptic world, where the player must deliver medicines to surviving cities. Along the way, he will have to face obstacles, enemies and traps, until he reaches a missile base where the only rocket capable of stopping the catastrophe is located. Released in 1990, Fatal Run is a game that reflects the themes of the end of the world and survival, very popular at that time and, unfortunately, still today.
  • Food Fight: a fun and fast-paced game, where the protagonist Charley must eat an ice cream cone before it melts. To do so, he must escape four angry chefs: Angelo, Zorba, Oscar and Jacques, who throw all kinds of food at him. Charley can defend himself by throwing the food he finds on the floor, trying to bite the cone before it’s too late.
  • Ninja Golf: so original and bizarre. A game which, as the title promises, combines the zen mood of golf with frenetic martial arts. The player must hit the golf ball and then run towards the hole, facing various enemies such as ninjas, samurai, dragons and ninja stars. Along the way, he can also collect treasures and improve his skills.

How to buy the “new” games for the Atari 7800

The three games will be republished May 24, 2024, in a limited and numbered edition. Each game will have a new cartridge and packaging, and will be sold al price of €29.99. Pre-orders are open from today, January 29, 2024, on the official Atari website.

The games will be compatiblethem with both the Atari 7800 console and the Atari 2600+ console.
