TIM and the FS Italiane Group have announced the activation of the first mobile radio coverage system with 4G technology in the tunnels of the Milan – Bologna High Speed section. It is one of the main Italian railway lines that can now count on complete coverage of the 4G mobile network. For users, therefore, there is the possibility to take advantage of a stable and high quality connection even in the most unfavorable areas such as the longest railway tunnels. TIM completes 4G coverage on Milan – Bologna High Speed
Thanks to TIM’s completion of 4G coverage, travelers will be able to access the mobile network along the Milan – Bologna high-speed route both through the on-board WiFi service and through direct operator coverage. In addition, TIMalsoand Iliad, Vodafone and WINDTRE.
TIM also announced that, over the next few months, an upgrade to 4G technology is also planned for the route between Bologna and Florence of High Speed. In addition, further enhancements will arrive in the course of 2023. The routes will be covered from Turin to Milan, from Florence to Naples and from Bologna to Venice. In this way, the service will become more and more efficient along the entire High Speed section.
