TP-Link brought several novelties to the fair Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona – and we asked the Country Manager for Italy to tell us about them, Diego Han. Who explained to us how, among consumer solutions, the focus is all on WiFi 7, Mesh e 5G. But that the company increasingly wants to approach companies, even with its cloud control solution To have.

The producer, who as Diego Han reminds us is “the number one in consumer networking and that wants to bring the same winning offer also in the professional field“, organized its stand at the Mobile World Congress around three pillars of its offer. Among the new professional devices and for home, mobile and fixed connections, the focus is on 5G, fiber and WiFi 7 technologies.
I primi router WiFi 7
On one side of the stand, Diego Han shows us some of the most interesting products that TP-Link brought to Barcelona for MWC 2023. He showed us a huge variety of devices for the multi-gig era, products with connections ranging from dat 2.5 Gbps up to 10 Gbps per port, with capacities up to 46 Gbps.
But the innovation lies in the new frontier of connectivity. “TP-Link is very proud to present the first WiFi 7 product in the world”, he tells us showing us some products of the range Deco e Archer. Han explains that this new technology comes from the strategic partnership with Qualcomm, which is developing the chips to handle this connection. “We have a excellent relationship with Qualcomm, therefore we were able to launch this type of novelty first. In this way we have been able to bring here to Barcelona and launch on the market both products for consumers and for operators”.
Furthermore, Han explains to us that these devices are all equipped with EasyMesh technology, which allows you to cover every corner of the house with mesh networks. Something that will be useful because “we can manage different streams and different devices. These are a few among the most powerful routers in the world”.
Work with service providers
Han also explains that service providers will be able to manage WiFi services, networks and devices remotely, maximizing the potential of their network infrastructure and improving connectivity and the customer experience. “We are already working with several service providers, who want to be able to offer their customers the fastest and most powerful WiFi 7 technology. So we are betting a lot on this technology in 2023”.
However, he explains that the company is still evaluating with partners how to launch these products. “The main problem with this technology at the moment is the cost, which is currently higher than WiFi 6 – we are therefore talking about top-of-the-range products, which even exceed 300 euros. So for the moment we will mainly target the premium market and small officers. But more chip makers are coming soon – once the market is open, the cost of routers will also decrease”.
Han also explains to us that, thanks to the solutions He will driveinternet service providers (ISPs) can monitor and offer customized solutions in network configurations in a convenient and cost-effective manner.
Hardware side, Han also shows us the gateway professionale NB610v, which offers record-breaking performance thanks to three-band WiFi and very low latency. Furthermore, this gateway is equipped with a porta WAN/LAN 2.5G for secure, reliable and fast wired connections.
TP-Link at MWC 2023: the 5G theme
Also on the stand is a new one 5G gateway series high-tech, equipped with WPA3 security standards and technology EasyMesh for reliable and performing foreign networks. Also with solutions XGS-PON at the forefront of the 10G eracapable of responding to the needs of applications and bundled services with voice, data and video.
“5G has been one of the hottest topics in recent years. But I believe that 2023 will be the most important year for this market. This is because for the moment several service providers have not yet launched 5G offers. But this year, 5G will arrive in many offers from ISPs – we are actively working to bring 5G solutions to consumers. We have both internal and external gateways, both for service providers and for the open market – so anyone can buy them,” Han explains.
The Country Manager explains to us that with these technologies Han wants to confirm himself as number one for the consumer market, as well as improve his position with internet service providers – also thanks to WiFi 7. But they aim a lot at the business market. “We have launched a research and development center for Italy dedicated to Omada solutions, that are designed for business for networking. We are investing heavily to position ourselves as a company capable of offering not only quality and services at the right price, but also as a company that is proud of its supply chain and R&D sector”.
