TSMC prepares to start production of 3nm chips. The start of production is scheduled for the second half of 2022. Ithe first customer of the Taiwanese company will be Apple which is already working on new generations of its models that will use 3nm chips made by TSMC. TSMC prepares the new 3nm chips, Apple is ready to use them
Apple will immediately take advantage of TSMC’s 3 nm production process. The Cupertino company should present the first devices equipped with chips made with this production process as early as 2023. Coming soon there are new iPads, iPhones and Macs. In particular, Apple is expected to present models with M3 e A17. The new production process will guarantee an increase in performance between 10 and 15% compared to a decrease in consumption between 25 and 30%. Apple, we can be sure, will make the most of these innovations for its range of products.
Lots of news for the future
The future of TSMC’s production activities will be full of news. The company is already working on the chip a 2 nm, probably coming from 2025. In the meantime, an updated version of the 3nm production process is already planned, capable of guaranteeing a further improvement in performance.
