Yes, we know, the title is already quite funny like that. But it happened for real: hackers broke into Twitch this morning, and started replacing all wallpapers with photos of Jeff Bezos. Here are all the details.
Hacker on Twitch: It happened this morning
Some hackers have managed to get on Twitch for a few hours in the US morning. To confirm this is the portal The Verge, which also tells us the more comical side of the situation: the cybercriminals would have defaced the platform with photos of Jeff Bezos. These have in fact replaced some background images with photos of the CEO of Amazon.
User reports keep coming in, and many claim to have seen Bezos’ face as the backdrop for various games such as GTA V, Dota 2, Smite, Minecraft, Apex Legends, and many other titles.
More Twitch shenanigans are afoot. All game directory header pictures on the Web version of Twitch are now showing a closeup picture of Jeff Bezos. It’s been like this for the last 2 hours. pic.twitter.com/LcKP9jGMCC

A user on Twitter reports the problem
It is not yet clear how the attack happened. The fact is that it is the second time in a week that the Amazon platform has been hacked. In fact, just a few days ago, several hackers had hacked the site. Actions of this type will certainly have important consequences in terms of countermeasure and IT security. According to The Verge, the hackers, by exploiting an incorrect server configuration, managed to steal hundreds of gigabytes of information. Twitch is still investigating the breach and more information is expected to arrive in the coming days.
Already after the attack in recent days, a large amount of information relating to the platform’s source code has been disseminated on the web. And not only that: the leaks also covered unpublished projects and even a how much the top streamers earn. According to a former Twitch employee, the fact that the source code was made public may have contributed to this morning’s attack.
Reddit users have noticed the first images of Bezos are around 5 a.m. ET (around 11 a.m. in Italy).
